The European Union banned bisphenol A in baby bottles made of polycarbonate

The Directive No. 2011/8/CE issued on 29/01/2011, amended the Directive No. 2002/72/EC, prohibiting the use of bisphenol A in baby bottles made of polycarbonate, for infants according to the Directive No. 2006/141/EC. This Directive enters into force on 01/02/2011. The member states of the European Union must transpose this Directive no later than 15/02/2011. The ban of bisphenol A in baby bottles made of polycarbonate is effective from 01/03/2011, and marketing of plastic products not complying with the new directive is prohibited from 01/06/2011 .
