Checks of the regulation respect of rubber products intended for contact with foodstuffs were carried out by the DGCCRF in January 2014. They targeted primarily manufacturers , processors, importers, then wholesalers and retailers and finally the food operators and users of these materials. Testing specific ( nitrosamines and antioxidants) and global migration were performed on nipples, pacifiers and other rubber articles by laboratories in Lyon and Bordeaux. The rate of non-compliance related to the ability of materials in contact with foodstuffs is 32.5 %. Exceedances of the regulatory value of global migration were especially noted on gloves. In addition, the observations on labelling are contrasted and distributors, the agri-food industries users ignore the regulation concerning materials in contact.
